  3. 1/2 cup sugar
  4. 3 tbsp beet root juice
  5. 3-4 drops rose essences
  6. 1 pinch green colour
  7. 1 tbsp ghee
  8. 1 cup milk
  9. as required Silver balls

Steps to make to make Coconut Rose Modak

  1. Take a kadai add desiccated coconut and dry roast 1-2 mins in slow flame, do not colour change.
  2. Now add milk, milk powder, ghee, sugar and mix it properly. Stir mixture continuously to avoid lumps, cook mixture on slow flame, mixture starts to thicken and forms dough. Do not overcook mixture.
  3. Now take out small portion of the mixture and green colour and mix it properly and keep aside.
  4. Now another portion in kadai add beet root juice and mix it well and cook just for 3-4 mins. Before switching off the flame add 2-3 drops rose essences and mix it well and keep aside.
  5. Allow the mixture to cool down.Now break into lemon size balls then shape into Modak, it's a freehand with the help of toothpick. As shown in picture.
  6. Now decorat with silver balls.
