- 2 cup whole wheat flour
- 500 gm beetroot cut into small pieces
- 4 green chillies
- Pinch hing /asafoetida
- to taste Salt
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
- 1 tsp corinader/dhania powder
- 1 tsp saunf ( fennel)powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 1 tsp dry ginger powder
Instructions to make to make Beetroot Paratha
- Firstly wash beetroot, keep aside.
- Take a mixer jar, add beetroot pcs & green chili, grind it to a fine puree, keep aside.
- Now take a mixing bowl, add ata, salt, hing, ajwain & oil, mix it well.
- Add all the powdered masala, mix it well.
- Add beetroot puree, mix it nicely.
- Add lil water slowly slowly if required, knead a soft dough.
- Brush 1 tsp oil onto the dough, rest it for 10 minutes.
- Now take an iron tawa, heat it.
- Take small portions of dough, make balls.
- Roll it, make a med sized roti, spread some oil, fold it in a triangular shape.
- Roll it again & make a paratha.
- Moderate the flame, spread some oil onto the tawa, wipe it out.
- Brush some oil over one side of the paratha, place it on the tawa, oil side down.
- Cook it till light brown (check it), flip the side, cook it again in the same manner.
- Spread oil on both side of the paratha, cook it till both side brown.
- Take out in a serving dish, serve it with any curry or chutney.
- You can use desi ghee also in place of oil.
