  9. 1 tbsp sugar or as per taste
  10. as needed Some chopped nuts--
  11. as needed Cashews, almonds, pista and of your choice
  12. 7-8 saffron strings
  13. 1/2 tsp cardamom powder

Steps to make to make Beetroot Diya Sweet

  1. First for making diyas-- peel and grate beetroot finely.Now heat 1tsp of ghee in pan. Add grated beetroot.Stir well and cook for few minutes till soft (I cooked beetroot in microsafe bowl for 5 min)
  2. Now add condensed milk and rose essence.Mix well and stir continuously till it changes into a lump form.
  3. Let it cool.
  4. Divide the mixture into 2 parts..
  5. Take one part and arrange it in shape of mould to give it a shape of diya...(I have used silicone flower moulds for this)
  6. Keep aside to set completely.(you can keep them in freeze)
  7. For making mawa filling- (soak saffron strings in milk and keep aside)-..heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan...Add saffron soaked milk and milk powder and sugar.Stir continuously till it becomes solid mass of lumps add cardamom powder and chopped nuts.Mix well and switch off the flame.Let it cool for a while. Mawa filling is ready.
  8. Now demould diyas.Fill them with mawa mixture(decorate them with ur choice.)And place a almond at any corner as bati.
  9. Delicious and tasty diya sweet is ready.
